Cause and Explanation of Hair Loss
Eight out of ten men experience some degree of hair loss in
a lifetime. Male pattern Baldness is a continuous disorder that
causes men, and some women, to lose hair over the front, top,
and crown of the head. Every single hair follicle on a person’s
scalp is genetically programmed either to be sensitive to male
hormones- Androgen, which begins to appear after puberty causing
the follicle to shrivel and die after a certain time –
or become permanent lifelong hair, not affected by the normal
hormones.
-
Permanent lifetime hairs are found in an abundant supply
in virtually all men. They are located on the sides and back
of the head (donor area).
-
Hair Transplantation uses some of the permanent hairs
from these areas and relocates them to areas of thinning and
balding on the front and top of the head.
-
The transplanted hair retains its genetic properties and
grows as it did in its original location for life. Hair Transplantation
is the only permanent, natural way to correct hair loss.

The Procedure
Hair Transplantation is a minor office procedure. The technique
involves the removal of a specified layer of hair bearing skin
from the donor area under local anesthetic. The area is then
cosmetically sutured so that a thin scar line will not show
even immediately after the procedures. In most cases only a
tiny linear scar will exist, concealed by hair.
In delicately detailed work, the hair bearing strips are Microscopically
divided into 1 and 2 hair follicle grafts units for the hairline
and 2 -5 hair follicle graft units for the top of the head.
After anesthetizing the scalp area to be transplanted, tiny
micro incisions are made in an undulating and random fashion
(as to rival natural hair growth). The permanent hair bearing
grafts are then placed into the sites. Great care is taken to
properly place the grafts at the correct depth, angle and space
so that the finished result will appear completely natural.
Because the grafts are so small, bandages are not needed.
Some of the transplanted hairs grow immediately. However,
most hairs go into a resting phase for 8-14 weeks before exhibiting
growth. This can be a very anxious time. Be assured that these
grafts will grow. We ask that you return to the office after
3 months so that we may assess your progress. Should the patient
so desire, increased density can be accomplished through subsequent
treatments. Most patients require 1-3 treatment depending
on their goals of restoration.

Microscopic Follicular Recovery System
There are new technologies in hair transplantation the have
significantly advanced the specialty. The most important of
which is the use of the Stereo Microscope in the retrieval and
dissection of the hair follicle grafts.
Dr.Rassael has exclusively incorporated the Stereo Microscope
into his practice where it is used to prepare the follicular
unit. As people explore the area of hair transplantation they
become aware that hair follicles do not grow from the head
one by one, but rather in follicular units consisting of one
to five hairs. This includes the pilosebaceous structure which
lubricates the hair shaft but also is part responsible for
hair growth.
The use of Microscopic Follicular Recovery System (MFRS)
ensures that the pilosebaceous structure is preserved intact.
Hair follicle units as small as one hair for the hairline
region can be readily utilized. Larger hair follicle units
of 2-5 hairs may also harvested in their entirety. The utilization
of the Stereo Microscope is the most accurate method of obtaining
the highest quality hair follicle unit grafts. In addition,
many patients have lower hair density, have had multiple procedures
with resulting scar tissue, or have a greater degree of baldness.
The use of the Stereo Microscope is imperative with these
candidates as each and every hair follicle must be accurately
retrieved and fully utilized.
Dr. Rassael is experienced in modern Hair Transplant techniques.
He has developed a method of utilizing different sized grafts
for different regions of the scalp. In addition, he has developed
a technique to allow for easy entry of the grafts to ensure
a soft feathered appearance along the hairline. These techniques
produce completely natural and aesthetically pleasing results
with density that is better than other outdated techniques.
His practice is limited to individualized care for the patients.
Major difference exists between the artistic and refined
hair restoration techniques practiced at The Millennium Medical.
Dr. Rassael techniques produce a completely natural and aesthetically
pleasing result, eliminating any unnecessary worries over
what one will look like….You will look Fabulous!
Millennium Medical Spa is a completely private practice.
Dr. Rassael and his staff perform the entire procedure. Full
attention to every aspect of the case is paramount for a satisfactory
result. For this reason Dr. Rassael choose to perform only
one case in it’s entirety at one time. This is in a
direct contrast to the large clinics and franchises that perform
three or four hour cases concurrently.
